Steps To Root Your Nexus 5
Step 1: Launch Android Root tool.
You will see a window like below.
Step 2: Connect Nexus 5 to your computer via USB cable.

So that being said, the cause of this error is that an app gets installed, and then without notice or without permission starts changing the resolution screen output setting within Galaxy S5. Keep in mind that you can only change these settings while your Galaxy S5 has root access. So if you haven’t already, your Galaxy S5 needs to be rooted and needs to have access to SuperUser or the SuperSU app.
Once you’ve got access, you’ll need to download specific screen resolution changer apps in order to put the settings back to the correct value.
Let me quickly show you step by step how to troubleshoot the low resolution error:
1 – Root Galaxy S5, so you get the SuperUser icon on your home tab. (This icon also confirms whether the root was successful or not. If you performed a root, and you didn’t get the icon, then it means that the root was not completed correctly,)
2 – If the root was successful, you can then tap on SuperUser, and go to the “Apps” section. Here you’re able to download many apps that the normal Google Play store doesn’t show you.
3 – Now look for one of the following apps (1 will do, no need to install all of them)

NOMone Resolution Changer
Download and install any of the above 2 apps, so that you’re able to change the resolution back.
4 – Once installed, just go to the app and you’ll have the ‘shuffle’ option, so you can set the screen resolution back to the corrective value.
That’s it!
There’s a way to do this without getting root access on your Galaxy S5, but it’s very technical bases, and I would not recommend doing this until you’re a tech genius!
I’ll quickly explain how it works:
1 – Install ADB, which stands for Galaxy S5 Debug Bridge. (if you don’t know what this is, it’s basically the command control center aka command prompt of Galaxy S5)
2 – Enable USB Debugging.
3 – Use the following command in the ADB shell, to find your original DPI (density independence):
adb shell dumpsys display | grep mBaseDisplayInfo
4 – With the original DPI info found, now change it to your liking using the ADB shell command, to a number between 120 up to 640 – You’ll need to test what gives the best output for your Galaxy S5.
And that’s pretty much it. Keep in mind that you should do this at your own risk. It’s safer to go with the first option, as it’s much more simplified using the root method.
